During this guided tour I will tell you about the origins of perfume in Florence, the importance it had and still has in our society and there will be no lack of curious anecdotes and interesting stories.

Our guided tour will begin in the magical rooms of Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. It is the oldest pharmacy in Europe, known for the sale of soaps, liqueurs, perfumes, cosmetics, herbal and food specialties made following XVII century artisanal techniques of the Dominican friars. It is a fascinating, mysterious and ancient place, where not only can you buy high quality products, but you can also experience an authentic journey through art thanks to its decorated rooms full of details, mystery and incredible work of arts.

We will continue our perfume tour in some of the most famous perfume shops in Florence where you will live a unique sensory experience that will recall memories of your past and that will lead you into a world of new and yet to be discovered sensations. Through an olfactory tasting of particular essences selected for you, you will have the opportunity to retrace the steps of perfume making that still follow traditional methods as well as recognize how the smells and colors of Florence meet and blend perfectly with those of the East and ancient worlds.

After the perfume tour with me, if you want you can participate in a workshop lead by a master perfumer, who will guide you step-by-step in the creation of a personalized perfume to take home with you as a memory of your experience in Florence. In the laboratory of a beautiful perfume shop, you will find at your disposal more than 20 fragrances to combine together according to your tastes in order to create a perfume that best represents the essence of your personality.
